Jesse and Beth turn up in the morning, before breakfast, Sherry with them. Quill is still unconscious but recovering.

I can sense the hostility in the room, but I ignore it.

"The heart has been taken," I begin. "And the Black Wreath group has everything it needs to resurrect Belruth. However, while this is calm before the storm, I feel I should clear the air in this room. I understand that both of you resent me as to how I went about handling things, but there is a reason why I did what I did."

Jesse's face is pale, his eyes red, but he doesn't say a word. Beth is holding his hand, her grip so tight that her knuckles are white.

"When Belruth first came to power, it was the Black Wreath group who stood by his side, who supported him. But with his downfall, the group was destroyed. However, fanatics can never be erased, and the surviving members kept passing on the stories of Belruth in their family. There were plenty of times, the group attempted to revive but it never worked. They needed someone in the center, someone to hold them together. Someone like Ubel Froscher"

I see Jesse's eyes widen, and Beth startles.

"Ubel is the current head of the Black Wreath group," I tap my fingers on the desk. "He is the man you saw in the video. Ubel is a dangerous person. He is not someone to be underestimated. Ubel is not immortal and yet his name is constant in the records of the Black Wreath group for centuries. It is believed that he entered the Devil's Pit, a place known only in myths, and he retrieved the Book of the Dead from the Hell Flame inside the pit. Using that book, he was able to reincarnate himself over centuries, keeping his control over the Black Wreath group."

I can see the doubts on the faces of the two teenagers and I smile, humorlessly, "This is all true, unfortunately. And your parents would be glad to verify this information, Jesse. All of you, including Taylor, Isabel, and Quill, were sent here, to this camp on purpose. All of your parents and I befriended the latest reincarnation of Ubel within this school, unknowingly. We were all manipulated and suffered heavy losses because of it."

It's hard to shatter their worlds, to tell them that their parents sent them here to fix their own mistakes and mine.

"Quill is the descendent of the Alpha Werewolf who led his kind against Belruth. Your ancestor, Jesse, was the one who sealed Belruth away at the cost of his life and others. Beth, your ancestors were the ones who were able to decipher the prophecy. They divided the truth and spread it out to hide it. Only your family knew the truth. That is why they were killed. There was no car crash. They were murdered. Taylor and Isabel's father was a descendent of the Blood Moon Hybrid who tore out Belruth's heart. And I, my descendent was charged with guarding this place, the secretholder and the recordkeeper.
